Full course description
This course prepares Texas educators to sit for the TExES English as a Second Language (ESL) Supplemental (154) certification exam. Participants review all three domains and ten competencies assessed on the exam — language concepts and language acquisition, ESL instruction and assessment, and the foundations of ESL education, cultural awareness, and family and community involvement — through readings, quick-check quizzes, and a scored quiz at the end of each domain. Every module includes downloadable guided notes, and the course closes with a full-length, 100-question practice test modeled on the real exam's format. This is a fully asynchronous, self-paced, ungraded study course; participants have 140 days of access from enrollment to complete it at their own pace.
